The problem with many newer cars is that they have proprietary systems or unfamiliar layouts, and third party shops need to take time to familiarize themselves with the vehicle in question before they can effectively make repairs. In addition to that, sometimes your vehicle may come with a warranty which requires it to undergo repairs at a certified shop.
